Description
ALABASTER RENAISSANCE CASKET
Size L. 33.5 cm x W. 21.5 cm x D. 17.0 cm Röhmhild Thuringia c. 1630 This casket consists of an ebonized wooden body with mouldings and finely worked alabaster fillings.
The front is architecturally designed with ten columns and six arches.
The casket contains several secret compartments which can be opened by sliding the right and left sides upwards like a drawer to reveal the secret compartments.
The object is in very good condition, with minor signs of use.
The key and the lock are original.
The interior is covered with painted paper.
